Potted History of Dancing Daisy
Dancing Daisy was established in the summer of 2008, after our glorious leader spotted some ballet tutu’s in a far away market while on holiday in Southeast Asia. She brought back sixteen dance tutu’s in various colours and sizes and the contact details needed to set up a regular supply.
These girls ballet tutu’s were so popular that soon we were importing more colours and bigger quantities and our own branding was added to the labels.
In 2009 our customer base was growing and included many dance schools and soon we were being asked to supply other dancewear products too. We spent a lot of time sourcing new dance products from the UK and all over the world, checking design, fabric and quality over and over again until we were happy with the leotards, ballet shoes and ballet uniform we were to put our name to.
Dancing Daisy moved into premises on Ferndown Industrial Estate in 2010 and with more space to fill we increased our range again and added more choice of ballet shoes and regulation dance uniform and examination wear.
2011 & 2012 saw us increase our staff levels to cope with the growing demand for high quality dancewear at affordable prices. Our own branded dance shoes and dancewear grew some more with the addition of tap shoes and character shoes as well as uniform and exam wear for character dance. Dancing Daisy became a limited company early in 2012.
2013 was a big year for Dancing Daisy Ltd. First we re-branded with our new improved logo design and in the summer we moved to much larger premises with bigger warehouse facilities and more office space to accommodate our growing business.
Of course, that meant that we had more space to fit in more lovely new dancewear products like skirted leotards, new style ballet tutu’s, dance tights, character skirts, jazz pants and ballet cardigans to name just a few. We also introduced a local click and collect option.
We started off 2014 with a new stock control and ordering system to keep better track of our customer orders and improved our customer service with the addition of more new staff to our Dancing Daisy family. Our cute little ‘Daisy’ van arrived in the summer and so did our new range of boys ballet wear. This year also saw us start to increase the size range that we provide by adding dancewear in sizes suitable for teens and adults too.
We can never resist adding new dancewear products to the Dancing Daisy range, so 2014 saw the introduction of convertible tights, rainbow ballet tutus, new character skirt colour, new colours and bigger sizes in leotards, skirted leotards and romantic ballet tutus – all with our own trusted branding and logo.
We love new stuff and in 2015 we introduced full sole and split sole jazz shoes, professional dance tights, hot pants/dance shorts and crop tops and increased the size range available on many regular dance products.
We also improved our services, with a new multi line telephone system and new UK Next day delivery provider.
2016 saw Dancing Daisy's eight birthday celebrations and we now supply more dance schools and dance shops than ever before and send orders all over the UK, Europe and worldwide.
2018 has started off in full swing with our new website design, which has many easy to use customer friendly features and all your favourite dancewear and dance shoes available at the click of a button.
New and exciting changes include the addition of Daisy's Dance Shop in Ferndown, Dorset opened in March.
We still stock our signature Daisy ballet tutu’s that started us off in 2008, only now they are kept company in our warehouse by around 52,000 other dancewear products.
The Dancing Daisy team look forward to serving you all during 2019 and beyond, and here’s to the next ten years of Dancing Daisy Dancewear.
